“Weight of Souls” by Selina Forsyth

So much, lately,
feels like the churning
of water in storm,
sixty pounds per square inch
of pressure dragging this way
and that
and down

and even when I’m walking
on the surface,
the gentle ripple
washing over my toes
reminds me of currents below

reminds me that
foundations
as fluid as faith
bear the weight
of souls
